Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about single-crystal diamond rings, from what they are to how to care for them.

1 About the Rings

What is a single-crystal diamond ring?
A single-crystal diamond ring is carved entirely from one continuous lab-grown diamond crystal. Unlike traditional rings with a metal band and set stones, the entire ring — including the band itself — is made of diamond. There is no metal, no setting, just 100% diamond.
Is it a real diamond?
Absolutely. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds. They have the same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), the same refractive index, and the same brilliance. The only difference is their origin — a laboratory instead of a mine.
How is it different from a regular diamond ring?
Traditional diamond rings feature a metal band (gold, platinum, etc.) with diamonds set into it. Our rings have no metal whatsoever — the band itself is carved from diamond. This means the entire ring captures and reflects light, creating unprecedented brilliance from every angle.
Can you resize a single-crystal diamond ring?
No, single-crystal diamond rings cannot be resized after creation. Because the entire ring is one piece of diamond, altering its size would require cutting into the crystal itself. This is why we emphasize accurate sizing before production begins, especially for bespoke commissions.
How durable are these rings?
Diamond is the hardest natural material on Earth, rating 10 on the Mohs scale. Our rings are extremely scratch-resistant and will maintain their polish indefinitely. However, like all diamonds, they can chip if struck at certain angles with significant force. We recommend removing your ring during activities that might expose it to hard impacts.
How much does a single-crystal diamond ring weigh?
Our rings typically range from 10 to 25 carats, though larger sizes are possible through bespoke commissions. Despite being solid diamond, they feel surprisingly light and comfortable due to their relatively small size compared to metal rings.

2 About the Process

How long does it take to make one?
Each ring requires over 1,000 hours of work, spanning 1-3 months from start to finish. This includes approximately 5 weeks for crystal growth, followed by months of laser cutting, grinding, polishing, and faceting. The extended timeline reflects our commitment to perfection.
What's the difference between CVD and HPHT diamonds?
CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) grows diamonds by depositing carbon atoms from gases in a vacuum chamber, producing exceptionally pure Type IIa diamonds. HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) recreates Earth's natural diamond-forming conditions using extreme pressure and heat. Both produce genuine diamonds; we select the method based on the specific requirements of each ring.
Why does it take 1,000+ hours?
Diamond is the hardest material on Earth, which makes shaping it extraordinarily difficult. The polishing alone requires 750+ hours of patient work with diamond-grinding tools. Each of the 118+ facets must be cut at precise angles. There are no shortcuts when working with diamond — only patience and skill produce excellence.
What happens to all the diamond material that's removed?
We start with roughly 55+ carats and finish with approximately 10-25 carats — a 50-80% material loss. The removed material is diamond dust and fragments that cannot be reconstituted into a ring. This significant waste ratio is one reason these rings are so rare and valuable.

3 Purchasing

How much do these rings cost?
Due to the unique nature of each creation and the extensive craftsmanship involved (1,000+ hours per ring), we provide pricing upon inquiry. Factors affecting price include carat weight, clarity grade, color grade, and any bespoke customizations. Please contact us for detailed pricing on specific pieces.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we offer secure, fully insured worldwide shipping. Each ring is carefully packaged and shipped via premium courier services with full tracking. Import duties and taxes may apply depending on your country; these are the responsibility of the recipient.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank wire transfers, major credit cards, and can arrange cryptocurrency payments upon request. For bespoke commissions, we typically require a deposit with the balance due upon completion.
What is your return policy?
Due to the bespoke nature of our creations, all sales are final. However, we stand behind our craftsmanship unconditionally. If you receive a ring that doesn't match its certification or has any defects, we will address it immediately. We encourage thorough consultation before purchase.
Do you offer financing?
We can arrange financing options for qualified buyers. Please contact us directly to discuss payment plans that might work for your situation.

4 Certification & Authenticity

Are the rings certified?
Yes, every ring is certified by either GIA (Gemological Institute of America) or HRD Antwerp. The certification includes full 4C grading (Carat, Cut, Color, Clarity), dimensions, and verification that the diamond is lab-grown. Each ring also receives a unique laser inscription.
How do I verify authenticity?
Each ring comes with a certificate from GIA or HRD Antwerp that includes a unique report number. You can verify this number on the respective organization's website. Additionally, each ring has a microscopic laser inscription that matches the certificate.
What does the certification include?
The certificate includes: carat weight, color grade, clarity grade, growth method (CVD or HPHT), dimensions, type classification, and any additional characteristics. It also confirms the diamond is laboratory-grown and provides a unique identification number.

5 Care & Maintenance

How do I clean my ring?
Clean your ring with warm water and mild dish soap using a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint-free cloth. For deeper cleaning, professional ultrasonic cleaning is safe for diamond. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive materials.
Can it break or chip?
While diamond is extremely hard, it can chip if struck at certain angles with significant force. The edges and points are most vulnerable. We recommend removing your ring during activities like sports, gardening, or any work involving impact or machinery.
Do you offer repairs?
Because these rings are carved from a single crystal, traditional repairs aren't possible — we can't add material back. However, minor chips can sometimes be polished out, and we offer re-polishing services to restore brilliance. Contact us for assessment of any damage.
Should I insure my ring?
Yes, we strongly recommend insuring your ring with a specialized jewelry insurer. The certification and appraisal documents we provide will help establish value for insurance purposes. Given the unique nature of these rings, ensure your policy covers full replacement cost.
